Though many reserve champagne consumption for special occasions, it it actually one of the most versatile wines to pair with food!  This is due in part to the high acidity levels. It is equally delicious paired with salty snacks such as fried chicken, or haute cuisine such as Foie Gras. Of course, it is equally appropriate to drink on its own and champagne is often served as an aperitif.
